Burnout, Breakups, and Becoming HER Again: Mykael’s Boudoir Glow-Up in Kansas City
There’s boudoir... and then there’s healing in a lace bodysuit while reclaiming your fire in front of the lens.
This was Mykael’s third session at House of Divulged. And let me tell you—this one hit different.
She didn’t come just for pretty photos (though, spoiler: she slayed).
She came after a hard breakup. A life pivot. A mental health low point.
She came needing something deeper.
“I needed a pick-me-up. Something to help remind me who I am and get me feeling like me again—or even a better me.”
And babe, did she ever.
When life hits you sideways, you’ve got to hit back—with softness and strength.
Mykael didn’t just show up with nerves (we all do). She showed up carrying heartbreak, anxiety, weight fluctuations, and that soul-deep exhaustion that comes from putting everyone else first for too long.
“We tend to put ourselves and our needs last. This shoot was a reminder that I'm worth putting myself first.”
Let that sink in. Because that’s not just about boudoir.
That’s about survival. About healing. About refusing to stay small.
From “What if I don’t look good?” to “OMG, that’s really ME??”
Before the session, Mykael was worried she’d overthink everything—how she looked, how she’d pose, whether she was “good” at this.
But here’s what she said after just a few shots:
“OMG, that is me. I DO look amazing.”
“It felt more like hanging out with some good old friends. Before long, the fear and overthinking went away—it became so fun.”
This is what I live for.
Watching someone come in guarded and unsure…
and leave like a damn phoenix.
Her favorite part of the day? All of it. Obviously.
From full glam to our mutual ADHD moment of spiraling into creative pose chaos (you know I love that energy), she felt every bit of her confidence rebuilding in real time.
“Looking in the mirror and seeing the reflection of this beautiful woman I know I am—but really feeling it.”
“I felt LIBERATED. I was half naked, but safe, seen, and like I was the art. Not in the photo. OF the photo.”
And then… the images.
“OMG OMG OMG OMG—that’s really me?? Like, REALLY really??”
Girl. YES. That’s you. That’s always been you.
Sometimes we just need someone to reflect it back.
How she sees herself now? Different. Powerful. Worthy.
“This session reminded me that I’m worth so much more than what I give myself credit for.”
“Even if no one else sees it—I do. I feel like me again. Not just this sad, upset woman I was.”
If that doesn’t make you want to book a shoot for your soul, I don’t know what will.
Thinking about booking your own? Here’s what Mykael wants you to know:
“Stop thinking about it. Don’t overthink it. Just do it. This isn’t just pictures—it’s an investment in yourself.”
“Be the little daredevil / beautiful angel you know you are.”
Your confidence isn’t gone. It’s just buried under life.
Let’s dig it out together—and light it on fire.
